What is private duty nursing?

Private-duty nursing is one-on-one medical care that is provided by licensed nurses for adults and the elderly who need continuous and specialized medical attention. This type of care will include medical support, continuous monitoring and therapeutic care that has been tailored to their individual health needs.

Patients with complex medical needs like IV therapy, tube feeding, and ventilator care will benefit from this service.

Do you staff caregivers?

Yes, at iServe Healthcare, we are dedicated to providing personalized and compassionate support by staffing our caregivers called personal care attendants (PAS). Our PAS can offer help by bathing, grooming and dressing patients. They can also assist with light housekeeping and medication reminders.

Does my loved one qualify for hospice?

Generally, for someone to qualify for hospice, they need to no longer be receiving curative treatments for a life-limiting illness with a prognosis of six months or less.

Can a patient leave hospice care if their condition improves?

Yes, patients can leave hospice care if their conditions improve or if they choose to pursue curative treatments again.

What support is available for families after a loved one’s passing?

Bereavement services can help families prepare for the grieving process and continue to provide support after the passing of a loved one.

How is hospice care funded?

Medicare covers all costs of hospice care, while Medicaid covers room and board for patients who are currently in a home. Private insurance will also cover the cost of hospice, depending on the plan.

Should I be homebound to qualify for hospice?

No, patients can still engage in their favorite recreational activities like visiting friends and going to church as long as they still have the strength.
