For patients and their families, starting hospice can be a daunting experience filled with complex emotions ranging from anxiety, anger, confusion, and grief. Choosing a hospice provider that understands this and knows how to navigate this difficult time is crucial. At iServe Healthcare, our compassionate and expert care staff are experienced in supporting patients and their loved ones every step of the way.
Our Hospice Services
At iServe Healthcare, we have a passion for the well-being of our patients by seamlessly blending compassion, innovation, and expertise into our care services, like home health, personal attendant services, and particularly hospice care. We understand that every patient will have unique medical needs and that hospice care needs to be adjusted to these needs, so we offer the following levels of hospice care.
- Routine home care. This is the most common type of hospice care and can be provided from wherever the patient calls home, whether it’s their private home or a private nursing home. At this level, routine care focuses on pain and symptom management, assistance with daily living tasks, emotional and spiritual counselling, and nutritional tasks.
- Continuous home care. Often referred to as crisis care, this level of care is used for patients who experience a sudden medical crisis. This also gives caretakers a break while the care team steps in to provide around-the-clock care.
- General inpatient care. If the patient’s medical crisis is still ongoing and symptoms can no longer be managed at home care, the patient will be transported to a care facility where the care team will control pain and stabilize the patient to return them home.
- Respite care. This is a temporary type of care that allows caregivers to take a break and prevent a condition called burnout.
